SAT/PSAT General Tips

The path to test success doesn't have to be difficult, but it does take determination and perseverance. We stick with it because we know it's important. It opens doors of opportunity. It gives us options.  

SAT Test Dates:


March 14, 2020 – Register by February 14, 2020


May 2, 2020 – Register by April 3, 2020


June 6, 2020 – Register by May 8, 2020

August 29, 2020 -- Register by July 31, 2020

October 3, 2020 -- Register by September 4, 2020

November 2, 2020 -- Register by October 9, 2020

December 2020 -- Register by November 6, 2020

ACT Test Dates:

April 4, 2020 – Register by February 28, 2020
 

June 13, 2020 – Register by May 8, 2020

July 18, 2020 -- Register by June 19, 2020

September 12, 2020 -- Register by August 7, 2020

October 24, 2020 -- Register by September 20, 2020

December 12, 2020 -- Register by November 6, 2020

CSUs and UCs will accept the December test results, but none later. DON'T forget to send them in! Take the tests early and often to increase your chances of getting good scores. 

As of this writing, the CSU schools DO NOT require an SAT or ACT essay, but the UC schools DO. Take the essay anyway so you have it in case you need it!

Registration deadlines expire at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time! That means 8:59 to you California kids!

You will sign up for the ACT here, but you can also study for the test for free here.  Scroll all the way down to where it says "Sample Test Questions." This is free online test prep.  Click on a subject or download a free study guide. 

Collegeboard.org 

Register for the SAT here.  Download paper practice tests here, get the free daily practice app for your phone here, or see sample questions here

Khanacademy.org is also an excellent resource for SAT test prep. You can link your college board accounts and have your PSAT scores sent to Khan Academy for a personalized study program. For Free! There are also many inspirational videos about getting into college.
